Our Story

A tale of innovation

Moments that have shaped our expertise

1994

Founding of Transamo SA (France).

Transamo provides professional services for transport authorities, including planning and managing tram, BRT, metro, and cycling networks.

2000

Montpellier launched its line 1 tramway.

A milestone was reached in the construction of an interconnected, high-performance tramway network. Transamo continues to support the Métropole de Montpellier and TAM by working on subsequent lines, including line 5, scheduled to open on December 20, 2025.

2006

Nantes unveiled its first BRT, the Busway.

Nantes Métropole and SEMITAN, with Transamo’s guidance, established the first high-level bus network in the country.

2010

Mulhouse became the first city in France to introduce the tram-train concept.

With Transamo’s support, Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération, SNCF and Solea launched a ground breaking tram-train service that operates on both urban and national rail networks.

2013

Met introduced its 80 ft BRT buses, dubbed Mettis.

Metz Métropole, with the support of Transamo as owner engineering, launched two BRT lines equipped with 80-foot bi-articulated buses, a European first.

2016

Transamo established its consulting divisions.

Transamo developed specialized departments to provide clients with expert knowledge in mobility studies, systems operation and maintenance, and project management.

2019

Casablanca unveiled line 2 of its tram system.

Casa Transports, with Transamo’s support, introduced the second line in its main transit network (4 tram and 2 BRT lines). It marks the start of Transamo’s foray into international tramway construction, with upcoming ventures in Australia and Belgium.

2022

First mandate in Canada with ARTM.

Transamo supports ARTM in its digital transformation program (Concerto), including its fare collection system, passenger information solutions, and MaaS strategy.

2023

Second mandate in Canada with Capitale Mobilité.

Transamo supports Capitale Mobilité, a limited partnership under the Réseau de transport de la Capitale, in its work on Québec City’s MaaS project: the business case, technical specifications, and digital solution selection.

Establishment of the Montreal branch.

2024

Third mandate in Canada with Aéroport de Montréal.

Working with Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architects (CMC consortium), Transamo oversaw the demonstration process to confirm RAM objectives for the REM station at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport.

2025

Incorporation of Transamo Canada

A pivotal moment in our journey: Transamo evolves to become both Quebecois and Canadian, establishing its Canadian subsidiary Transamo Canada Inc. headquartered in Montreal.
